Effective date: June 24, 2026
Loam is built with a privacy-first architecture. All data processing happens on your device. We do not operate servers that collect, store, or process your personal data.
Loam ("the App") is a habit tracking application for iPhone and Apple Watch developed by Jeanese Latiolais ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. Loam is designed so that your habit data and personal patterns never leave your device.
Loam does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following on external servers:
The following data is created and stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework:
| Data Type | Purpose | Shared Externally |
|---|---|---|
| Habits & completions | Building today's loam and your history | No |
| User preferences | App personalization | No |
| Notification schedules | Reminder delivery | No |
When you link a habit to Apple Health, Loam requests read-only access to steps, workouts, mindful minutes, and sleep so it can tend that habit for you. Loam never writes to Apple Health, and no health data ever leaves your device. You can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Loam, or disconnect from within the app under Settings.
The Loam Apple Watch app mirrors today's loam from your iPhone and lets you tend or undo a habit from your wrist. This data is exchanged directly between your iPhone and paired Apple Watch using Apple's on-device connectivity. It is not routed through any server we operate.
iCloud Sync is planned for a future update. When it ships, all synced data will be stored in your own private iCloud and end-to-end encrypted by Apple's CloudKit framework. Loam will have no server and cannot access your synced data.
Loam is free. We offer optional tip purchases ($1.99, $4.99, $9.99) through Apple's App Store to support development. Tips are one-time purchases processed by Apple. They do not unlock additional features. No subscription data is collected as there are no subscriptions.
No personal data is collected, transmitted, or stored during any purchase flow. All payment processing is handled by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID.
With your permission, Loam sends local notifications to remind you about habits. These notifications are:
You can manage notification permissions in iPhone Settings > Notifications > Loam.
Loam does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The App does not contain:
Data export is planned for a future update. When it ships, exports will be generated locally on your device — no data will leave your phone during the export process.
To delete all your data, you can:
Loam does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The App does not require account creation, does not collect personal information, and does not include advertising. If you believe a child is using the App and have concerns, please contact us.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Since we do not collect email addresses or contact information, we encourage you to review this page periodically.
Since Loam does not collect or store your data on external servers, most traditional data rights are inherently satisfied — your data is already entirely under your control on your device.
Loam does not process personal data on external servers, so GDPR obligations regarding data controllers and processors do not apply in the traditional sense. You have full control over your data at all times. You can access, export, or delete all data directly from your device.
Loam does not sell, share, or disclose personal information to third parties. We do not collect personal information as defined under the CCPA. There are no categories of personal information to disclose because no data leaves your device.
Regardless of your location, you can:
