Loam is rich soil — the kind good things grow from. In the app, each habit you tend today helps your sprout grow, a little at a time. It only ever grows; miss a day and nothing wilts. It's a calm way to see progress — you're tending growth, not defending a streak.
Tap the + button on the Today tab. Enter a name, choose an icon and color, and set your schedule (daily, weekdays, weekends, or custom days). Tap Save and it joins today's loam right away.
On the Today tab, tap a habit to tend it. You'll feel a soft haptic tap as it's marked done. Changed your mind? Tap again to undo. There's no deadline and nothing is marked as failed.
Long-press any habit on the Today tab to open the menu. Choose Edit to change it, Archive to set it aside without losing its history, or Delete to remove it and its history for good.
Yes. When creating or editing a habit, set Times per Day to your target (for example 8 for water or 3 for medication). Each tap counts one, and the habit is done once you reach the day's target.
Ahead is your forward-looking view. Instead of grading the past, it shows your rhythm and what's coming up so you can plan a gentle nudge for tomorrow. No scores, no red days — just a calm look at the path ahead.
No. Loam is deliberately grade-free. There are no streaks to break, no points, and no failure states — just today's habits and the path ahead. Miss a day and nothing is lost; you simply tend it the next time.
Yes. Loam includes a grade-free Apple Watch app and complication. Tend a habit right from your wrist and it stays in step with your iPhone, and the complication shows how many of today's habits you've tended.
Yes. When creating or editing a habit, open the Apple Health section and link it to a source (Steps, Workouts, Mindful Minutes, or Sleep). Loam completes that habit automatically once today's Health data crosses your goal. Access is read-only — Loam never writes to Apple Health and no health data ever leaves your device.
Long-press your iPhone Home or Lock Screen, tap the + (or Edit), search for "Loam", and add the widget. It shows today's progress at a glance.
iCloud sync is on the roadmap. When it ships, your habits will sync privately through your own iCloud, end-to-end encrypted by Apple's CloudKit. For now, your data lives securely on your device.
Loam follows your iPhone's appearance by default, with a warm soil-and-slate palette tuned for both. You can also set Light or Dark directly in Settings.
Yes. Loam is 100% free with no ads, no paywalls, and no data collection. You can optionally leave a tip ($1.99, $4.99, or $9.99) to support development, but tips don't unlock anything.
Tips are one-time purchases processed by Apple. For refund requests, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
Open your iPhone's Settings > Notifications > Loam and ensure notifications are enabled with Banners, Sounds, and Lock Screen turned on. Also check that a Focus mode or Do Not Disturb isn't holding them back.
Widgets and complications refresh on the system's schedule. Open the app to tend or undo a habit and they'll catch up. If a widget stays stale, remove and re-add it.
Force-quit the app and reopen it. If the issue persists, make sure you're on the latest version from the App Store. As a last resort, delete and reinstall the app.
Loam is free. If you enjoy it, you can leave a tip to support development.
